Our beloved sangha brother from Portaferry, Ireland, Johnny C. Patterson, passed away in his home, on August 27, 2026, after some years of sharing practice with the teachers and communities of Dekeling Meditation Community and Fernwood Zendo of Victoria, BC.

To celebrate our Dharma connection, Lama Lekshe will guide a Passage to Light Ceremony on October 10, Saturday, at 11 AM at the Vicarage.

The ceremony will also be live-streamed from this link and will take about an hour or slightly more. All are warmly welcomed to attend, whether you knew Johnny or not.

Sangha members are also coordinating additional personal memorial celebratory contributions as part of the ceremony and a potluck at the Vicarage will follow. Lama Lekshe has encouraged Dekeling students, if possible, to cook something delicious that you might have shared with Johnny, since we are invoking his presence.
