Information Session: Death & Dying Class Series and Cohort

Information Session: Dekeling’s 2026 Death and Dying Study and Practice program (DDSP)

Online Only.
January 29, 2026 – 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

FREE, but registration is advised

In 2026, Dekeling is offering a period of dharma training with Lama Lekshe and others devoted to cultivating an understanding of the practices, concepts and skills related to death and dying as spiritual practice. The curriculum will include study of the Tibetan Buddhist approach to death and dying as spiritual practice, compassionate care for the dying, and many other related topics. The program will likely last at least one year, and possibly longer.

Anyone interested in knowing more about this program is invited to an orientation session on evening of January 29th on Zoom to explore the proposed curriculum of more than a dozen classes and retreats on preparing spiritually reorienting to both death and life from this unique perspective.

This January 29th information session is free and is open to all who would like to know more about either or both options; or about the program in general, even if just out of curiosity. We’ll explore what the program will be, how it will work, what students can expect, and why preparing for death transforms life.

There are two options for attendance in these classes (all of which are open to the public)—as individual participants, or through participation in an ongoing cohort group. The primary difference will be that the DDSP cohort group participants will make a commitment to attend all the classes and will have group meetings at least once a month to learn and share together.
